The problem statement

People living far from their families often struggle to manage and monitor their family's health. Lack of simple, comprehensive, easily accessible health platform makes it harder.

The problem discovery

The health sector is still way behind when it comes to digitization.

If we look at the current market and the health system the whole healthcare system is still behind the patients have to carry big documents with them finding the best care is still very difficult for the lower and middle-class patients.

My role

As the founder and director of Seht, my own startup, we’ve successfully secured initial funding, allowing us to stabilise the app. We're now gearing up for larger funding rounds to scale the product and drive further growth.

Possible feedbacks

01

🤨 Lack of context

The user felt that the current applications are not providing the user with the right understanding of what the service can do for them.

02

🗺️ No clear navigation

The users were lost in certain areas throughout the applications resulting the users in confusion and miss understanding.

03

🤦‍♀️ Frustrating user experience

Some applications were hindering the user flow and there were lots of breakpoints eventually creating cognitive friction and leading to frustration.

04

📔 Lack technical literacy

The healthcare industry is still very behind with digitisation, especially in developing countries like India. Due to this users are also unaware of healthcare digitisation.

The process

Empathy map

An empathy map helped deepen my understanding of the users, offering valuable insights into the motivations behind their actions.

image 8

User journey mapping

The user mapping provided me a valuable insights into which features are likely to have a greater impact on the users' moods, requirements, and preferences.

image 9

Value propositions

The value proposition proved to be a valuable group exercise that helped us determine which features to include in the application and what benefits would be realized by both users and the business.

image 10

The planning

Collaborative brainstorming unveiled future product scope

Collaborative brainstorming sessions with my team gave me a clear view of the potential scope for our future product. We pinpointed some key features we plan to address, concentrating on user understanding and MVP development.

image 11

Impact effort matrix

I’ve used a 2x2 matrix to prioritize features, helping to identify which features are most important and should be developed first. This matrix also evaluates the potential for future inclusion, assesses feature scope, and measures their value to both users and the business.

image 12

Journey flows

I focus on creating user flows that maximise efficiency by minimising steps and reducing the time needed. This approach streamlines the process to be as quick and straightforward as possible, thereby enhancing the overall user experience.

What I learned

  • User-Centric Design is Crucial: Prioritising user needs and feedback throughout the development process is essential for creating a product that resonates with and meets the needs of your target audience.

  • Iterative Development Enhances Product Quality: Continuously testing, refining, and iterating on the product based on user feedback and data helps in improving the quality and functionality of the product.

  • Effective Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with different teams, such as engineering, marketing, and customer support, is vital for aligning goals, ensuring smooth execution, and delivering a cohesive product experience.

  • Balancing Vision with Practicality: It's important to balance innovative ideas with practical considerations, ensuring that the product vision is achievable within the constraints of time, resources, and technology.

  • Data-Driven Decisions Lead to Better Outcomes: Utilising data and analytics to inform decisions helps in understanding user behaviour, measuring success, and making informed choices that drive the product's growth and improvement.

  • Building a Strong User Community is Valuable: Engaging with users and building a supportive community around the product fosters loyalty, generates valuable feedback, and creates advocates who can contribute to the product's success.

  • Starting small: with a small idea and transforming it into a functional product from the ground up was quite challenging, but it offered me a valuable opportunity for new learning and growth.
